FSC Certified

The mission of the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial, and economically prosperous management of the world’s forests.www.fscus.org. Mohawk grades that carry the FSC-certified designation meet the strict standards set forth by FSC. License Code: FSC® C002350.

Carbon Neutral

Mohawk grades carrying the Carbon Neutral designation are made carbon neutral within Mohawk’s production processes.  In addition to purchasing enough Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to match 100% of the electricity used in our operations, the thermal energy used in the manufacture of several grades is offset through the purchase of carbon credits that fund renewable energy or emission-reduction projects. These carbon offsets meet credible third-party standards.  Through this process, Mohawk is seeking to manufacture these papers with a net zero climate impact.

Green Seal Certified

GreenSeal is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding the environment and transforming the marketplace by promoting the manufacture, purchase and use of environmentally responsible products and services. GreenSeal develops standards, certifies products that meet their standards, and verifies the advertising claims made about those products. Mohawk’s uncoated papers meet Green Seal standard GS-7, based on 30% post consumer content and industry standard performance. Our coated papers meet GS-10 based on 15% post-consumer content, industry standard performance, and protective limits on heavy metals and formaldehyde. For more information visit GreenSeal.org.

Green-e Certified

Green-e certifies environmental commodities and products that mitigate climate change and help build a sustainable energy future. www.green-e.org. Green-e verifies that the RECs Mohawk purchases come from Green-e certified windpower projects, thereby ensuring that the RECs meet strict environmental and consumer protection standards.

Recycled

Windpower
